My First Vacation!

Guess what!?!?! Me, Annie, Mr., Mrs., and My Boy finally went on a vacation. They had not been on a vacation in over five years and I did not even know what the word "vacation" meant! When the family decided they would be able to swing a vacation, they knew they had to go somewhere that they could bring us with them. Over the years they had heard people talking about the Outer Banks being very dog friendly. They focused on that area & low & behold, they found a great littler village on Hatteras Island called Buxton.  We stayed at Buxton Beach Motel. It was a great value & the owners are very friendly. They make a special effort to make you feel right at home. Once we got there we found out that they are involved in animal rescue too! BONUS!!

For many years Mrs. has been promising Annie that she would take her to the beach & SHE FINALLY DID!!!  Isn't she pretty with her punk rock hairdo?

After a few waves rolled in, she was happy to sit in the sand and just relax!

Not me!  No way---I never knew there was so much water!!!!  I am really reckless around water so Mrs. insisted that I wear my life jacket.  I think I look pretty cute in it...
Here's a shot of me and My Boy.  I'm trying to take a good picture but I am really busting at the seams to get to that raging ocean.  Sometimes I wish that camera was not around!!!!
And here we go!  Look at those waves rolling in.  I was not the least bit afraid.  It sure was loud but I LOVED it.
My Boy was a good swimming partner.  He held on to my leash just in case things got too crazy.
What?  A break.  A break?  Who needs a break???  Let me back in the water.  I can rest back at our new home (well, our home away from home) later.  LET'S SWIM!!!

Look at me!  I love to swim.  JAWS ain't got nothing on me!!!!  I am the king of the ocean...
I thought about buying a surfboard and going out even further.  Maybe next time!!
This picture is sort of silly.  I did a little rolling around in the sand so I look a little more goofy than usual.
WHEW!!!!  That salt water does not taste good.  I was told not to drink it, but it's water, right?  Humans have such weird views on life...
Look at My Boy and Mr. in the background....messing up my picture...
Me and My boy...Looking relaxed down at the beach!!!
This should be on a postcard!  WISH YOU WERE HERE!  Love, Pauley James.
Oh no!  The wind caught my ears...

My people usually think of everything but they forgot to bring me a toy to help me go to sleep.  Mr. and Mrs. took care of me after a trip to the store.  They went for a big drive and game back with my new friend...Gene the Giraffe.
Annie loves to sleep.  The ocean was good at making us sleep hard...
Wait, where's my giraffe?  That's ok---I don't HAVE to have it with me all of the time...

Me and My Boy practiced synchronized sleeping all week!!
Stay tuned for part II.

Wow, looks like you had an amazing time. I'm glad to see you wore your life jacket, and kept your Boy on a leash so he wouldn't get into trouble. You're such a smart dog!
