As we had told you before, Lacy was a senior dog who was used for breeding. When she came into rescue she had a large abscess and also a tumor that had to be removed. The abscess was caused by infection & even with having all of the best medical care, the infection would not completely go away. Lacy's mama decided to do surgery to find out exactly what was going on & upon doing surgery, she discovered that Lacy had advanced cancer in multiple places. Lacy's mama knew that the best thing that she could do for her was to let her go. We are so very sorry that this beautiful & gentle girl was only able to be in a loving caring family for a few weeks. We do however know that those few weeks were the best that any dog could ask for & that she was shown more love & kindness in those few weeks than in her entire life. Thank you to Lacy's family & the wonderful staff at All About Animals for making every minute count. Our hearts go out to all of the Lacy's of the world.

I'm so sorry. Perhaps what matters most is that she was loved at the very end. Thank you to all those who were involved in the last weeks of her life.
Run free, Lacy.
Awww how sad :( It brings tears to my eyes to hear about animals passing, especially from that ugly cancer. I'm thankful as well for those who helped her when she so needed it. Rest in peace Lucy.
We call this "the final rescue". She is now relieved of all future sadness and pain.
I read a version of The Story of The Rainbow Bridge that was written after 9-11. It had all of the lost dogs of the world stepping forward to meet up with the people and, especially the children, who died that day.
Oh, my sincere condolences to Lacey's family; she, indeed, knew love and compassion which are the memories she now is sharing with God. I once told my vet to not wake up an owner surrender dog after she opened him up to find cancer all over; the owner concurred. Godspeed, Lacey!
My deepest sympathy to all who loved Lacey. God bless you and Lacey's family for giving Lacey love and happiness in the end. Run free, Lacey.
Rest in Peace sweet Lacy

I'm so sad to hear about Lucy, but as you said I am glad to hear she had that chance at kindess and love that many dogs in her position die in a shelter abandoned without knowing. I'm always thankful that someone saw our little mama Braylon and took a chance many rescues would not have given her. She also looked so happy in your home!
Oh, I am so sorry to hear that. She was such a beautiful girl and so lucky to have found you and then her forever home, even if it was only for a little while.
So very sorry for your loss.
