I am now on
Facebook! I am still going to post here at least once a week; maybe a round-up from goings on. My people really wanted to stay away from facebook, but we do not get much traffic here & we need to get more exposure for my foster siblings. If anyone has any suggestions on how to do that, please send the suggestions our way! So far this week, we have gotten good news! Lea found her very own forever home!
Shirley is continuing to do GREAT in her home. She even has a middle name now (Mae) thanks to her two legger siblings!
All of the fosters & myself got to go swimming over the weekend, but only 2 of us got in the water.

And the people finally figured out how to get video (they think)!Though they still can't figure out how to position everything like they want & do not know how to flip the video so that you do not have to turn your head.
After all of this, I chilled out in the easy chair........

We didn't realize it at the time, but Facebook really has helped us network so much, though it is good coupled with the blog where you are able to explain so much more and have more photos. I think the videos really help a lot too; Levi's mom said she knew she wanted to adopt him when she saw the video of him rolling around. I've also heard showing the dogs in a family setting and with kids helps people imagine them in their own house. You do so many great things with fosters; it's always so inspiring to see all that you do.
Facebook can be a fabulous tool, as well as Twitter! Good luck with it. I'm following on fb so I'll share and keep in touch! :)
Two Pitties seems to know her stuff.She's right about the photos and videos with kids and such. Our foster Emma was at the pound for months, her photo was so depressing. Once we took her home and put up happy pictures she got over 200 hits on Petfinder.com and was adopted very quickly.
I don't "get" Facebook but I know that rescues use it well.See what they're doing and copy the good bits.

I'm glad you're going to keep posting. I don't do much with FB. Nothing against it, I just don't use it much. I do think that is the smart decision for the fosters. I'll bet you get much more exposure and it looks like a lot of fun too. Anything that gets pups into their forever homes is the way to go!
Thanks everyone for the tips & the kind words! Although we are happy to keep the fosters until the right home comes along, sometimes it feels that they never will. Poor Jiggs has been here 4 months.
I've found FB to be a fabulous networking tool for dogs in need. I can't foster right now because I'm traveling often so I make sure to share, share, share dogs in need of FB. It's my way of pitching in when I can, where I can. I have seen sharing saves many lives, including Uncle Water, who my parents fostered and then adopted after I saw him FB.
