Traveling Mama & Pups

Yesterday was the big day for Phoebe and her babies. They left for Willing Hearts Rescue in PA (thank you thank you thank you!!!). It was a pleasure to help mama Phoebe on her journey and we wish them the best of luck. People often ask what the hardest part about fostering is; without a doubt the most emotionally upsetting is when you take them for transport. The moment they realize that you are not going with them and no they can't come back with you. When we placed Phoebe in the crate, she started to shake uncontrollably & pleaded to us with her eyes. Not to worry though, we know that Phoebe & babies will each find their own wonderful homes & thanks to Willing Hearts & of course STAR, they are one step closer. Below are some of our favorite pictures that we had not yet posted. You will see more of Phoebe in our Christmas pictures (if we ever get around to posting them).

It is heartbreaking when they know they are leaving you. If only we could tell them that it is all for their good.

I remember taking a foster dog whom I loved to the Puppy Bus in Memphis, TN to go to her new foster home/rescue in ME. Broke my heart to send her off but now she is in a good home, though with mast cell cancer.
Pauley, does this mean you will be puppy-less for a bit? Enjoy your breather - puppy season is right around the corner!

Soooo sweet! It is so hard to see them off, but we have to keep the revolving door of foster puppies open (as I keep telling myself....:))

Good luck to Phoebe and her babies! I remember that I was skeered the day I left my Angel Donna Fostermommy cuz I didn't know what to expect. But things turned out pretty good for me and I know it will for all of them, too!

Talk about a cute overload! Transports are tough, but they are so lucky to have a rescue waiting for them on the other side! Happy New Year!

Oh, wow, I'm squirming just thinking about how tough that must be. But it's oh, so worth it!

The photo with the pup chewing on the boy's sock ... with his foot inside! ... is one of my all-time faves among my many all time faves on your blog!
