They all have a blue tint to them right now, but they have only had their eyes open for 2 days. If I had to guess, Bowie looks as if he might keep his blue eyes.
Great names! I'm curious about your approach of not handling the pups. Here, we do the opposite - we begin handling them at one week, touching feet and ears, getting them (and mom) used to human scent and touch. We trim nails every couple of days with little clippers. The first eight weeks of their lives (and especially weeks three through eight) are a period of intense socialization and exposure to a range of smells, touches, textures, experiences within the safety of the home and yard. At what point do you begin this process? Just curious.
Hello Jean, we try to only handle the puppies when absolutely necessary from birth to three weeks. We are especially trying to be extra careful with this litter since both Phoebe & Shirley have been sick. I do not think I have changed clothes or washed my hands/arms more often in my life! Once they hit 3 weeks, it is game on though :) I totally agree that puppyhood is a very important time for socialization & the "Boy" is counting down the clock.
