Skippy's First Day

As soon as we got home, the gang started some SERIOUS smelling that lasted for several minutes!

Before long though, Pauley James & Skippy were playing like they were long lost friends!

You would think that they would not be a good match for tug, but as you can see in the picture above, Skippy is pretty feisty for his size & was able to get the toy away from Pauley on more than one occasion.

All in all, it was a great start to everyone's relationship with Skippy. The girls just got the first good smells & then went on about their own business. Really though, who would not love a little face like this?!
Once nighttime rolled around & Skippy got a bath, Pauley seemed very excited when he realized that Skippy would be here for a while. Skippy did great with his bath. At first he seemed a little confused about what was going on, but he did not fight it & was a clean shining boy by the time it was finished.

Red is back from his (hopefully) last heartworm treatment & the vet's office said that he did great with his treatment & that they could see already that he was not as timid as before. I was not sure about that until we had a breakthrough last night & Red BARKED!! I almost could not believe it! I am hoping that means that he is now starting to settle in & realize that he is in a safe & loving place where he will always have plenty of food & lots of affection. He has another week of crate rest & then will go back for a re-test. Hoping everyone has a fantastic weekend!!

I know what you mean; sometimes with all of the animals running around, I feel like pulling my hair out :) I have to remind myself that it is only temporary....

What a great introduction with Skippy! Pauley is such a great sibling for foster dogs, so welcomming. They were even playing tug, how brilliant!

And that is some great news about Red. I love when barking is a positive sign. Hopefully he will be free and clear by next week. That will do wonders, I am sure.

As Big Carl shows, never underestimate the fistyness of a small pup!
