RED

Last night when I went into the kitchen, I could smell another dog. I could not figure out who or where they were. I could take it no more, I whined & whined until the Mrs. came and got me. She told me to sit down & she would explain everything. A few weeks ago she was checking Star's sight and she saw that their spotlight dog was a dog named Red. He had such sad eyes and floppy ears & really seemed to be staring right at her through the computer. The next day she emailed Star to see if they had anyone that needed fostered that is cat friendly. They sent her Red's information & she agreed to foster Red. Well, a few days passed & she did not get a call or email with the details on when to pick him up. It turns out that Red tested positive for HEARTWORMS! I have heard horrible things about those things & want no part of them, but I digress. Luckily Star was able to raise the funds needed to treat Red's heartworms. He has already had a treatment and will get his next treatment in several weeks. So he is staying at our house until he finishes treatment, recovers & finds a forever home (or is accepted into a rescue up north with a better chance of him being adopted) !! The only bad part is I will not be able to see him or play with him or EVEN snuggle with him until his treatment is over! He is staying in the family room & I can't even get a peek at him. I was so excited about showing off my big brother skills! I will stop in after a few days with some pictures & let you know how Red is doing :)

Poor Red! That's really rough. It must also be very hard for you not to just dash in there to say hello.

But I am very glad he is in such good hands and hope he gets rid of those nasty worms soon.

I hope Red is starting to feel a little better Pauley. He really lucked out that the rescue is able to afford his treatment and he gets to recover with your awesome family!

I'm thinking good thoughts that he's back in good health soon!
