My First Vacation!

Guess what!?!?! Me, Annie, Mr., Mrs., and My Boy finally went on a vacation. They had not been on a vacation in over five years and I did not even know what the word "vacation" meant! When the family decided they would be able to swing a vacation, they knew they had to go somewhere that they could bring us with them. Over the years they had heard people talking about the Outer Banks being very dog friendly. They focused on that area & low & behold, they found a great littler village on Hatteras Island called Buxton.  We stayed at Buxton Beach Motel. It was a great value & the owners are very friendly. They make a special effort to make you feel right at home. Once we got there we found out that they are involved in animal rescue too! BONUS!!

For many years Mrs. has been promising Annie that she would take her to the beach & SHE FINALLY DID!!!  Isn't she pretty with her punk rock hairdo?

After a few waves rolled in, she was happy to sit in the sand and just relax!

Not me!  No way---I never knew there was so much water!!!!  I am really reckless around water so Mrs. insisted that I wear my life jacket.  I think I look pretty cute in it...
Here's a shot of me and My Boy.  I'm trying to take a good picture but I am really busting at the seams to get to that raging ocean.  Sometimes I wish that camera was not around!!!!
And here we go!  Look at those waves rolling in.  I was not the least bit afraid.  It sure was loud but I LOVED it.
My Boy was a good swimming partner.  He held on to my leash just in case things got too crazy.
What?  A break.  A break?  Who needs a break???  Let me back in the water.  I can rest back at our new home (well, our home away from home) later.  LET'S SWIM!!!

Look at me!  I love to swim.  JAWS ain't got nothing on me!!!!  I am the king of the ocean...
I thought about buying a surfboard and going out even further.  Maybe next time!!
This picture is sort of silly.  I did a little rolling around in the sand so I look a little more goofy than usual.
WHEW!!!!  That salt water does not taste good.  I was told not to drink it, but it's water, right?  Humans have such weird views on life...
Look at My Boy and Mr. in the background....messing up my picture...
Me and My boy...Looking relaxed down at the beach!!!
This should be on a postcard!  WISH YOU WERE HERE!  Love, Pauley James.
Oh no!  The wind caught my ears...

My people usually think of everything but they forgot to bring me a toy to help me go to sleep.  Mr. and Mrs. took care of me after a trip to the store.  They went for a big drive and game back with my new friend...Gene the Giraffe.
Annie loves to sleep.  The ocean was good at making us sleep hard...
Wait, where's my giraffe?  That's ok---I don't HAVE to have it with me all of the time...

Me and My Boy practiced synchronized sleeping all week!!
Stay tuned for part II.

BANDIT ~ MISSING IN TOBYHANNA PA!

Corgi/Terrier Mix: An adoptable dog in Blakeslee, PA

Small • Adult • Male

MISSING!  Bandit was just recently adopted and has escaped from his adoptive home on Cambell Way in Tobyhanna PA on 6/4. He is wearing an ID tag with a phone number. He is skittish.  If sighted, do not chase.  Sit down and call him...he may come to you if you're low to the ground.  He may also come for treats.  He weighs about 25 lb.  He likes to go for car rides, so may jump into the car if you stop and open your door.
General location is Route 196 about 1-1/2 miles north of the intersection of 196 and 611. He's been sighted once not far from his home.  Victoria Drive and King's Way both lead into the development where his owners live.
If sighted, please email us with the address where you saw him and also call Crystal at 570-234-5060.

May Update

Hello friends! How is everyone’s summer so far?! We are staying busy here, but are still taking time out to have a little fun here and there. For instance, I have already been for several swimming sessions this year.  The water is cold, but oh so refreshing!!

I also went down a slide for the first time! I do not plan on doing that again!!

Sherry can still be found chilling on the hammock, napping on the couch or going for hikes. We are searching for a trainer to help her get over her fear of other dogs. If you know anyone qualified who may be interested, please let us know.

We have had 2 little fosters that were only here for a week or two.Truffles had the cutest little face! She loved to cuddle with my people, but was not interested in cuddling with me.

Next we had Bandit who was pretty dang cute himself & he did like to cuddle with me. Both pooches were around 20 lbs which is a little less than a 1/3 of a Pauley James, but let me tell you, those little dogs ruled the roost!! And by roost, I mean ME! I am sceared of those little dogs. They say jump & I ask how high!!  Truffles & Bandit went to Happy Dog Rescue! Thank you Happy Dog Rescue & STAR!!!
STAR has been super duper busy with regular intake of pets from the pound, but they also stepped up to help an elderly hoarder & have so far taken in 40 dogs with MORE to come from the same home!!! As you can imagine the vetting for the 40 dogs, is costly. The outstanding vetting bill before the hoarder dogs was taken in was already around $5,000.00. So, if you have any extra green papers, STAR does have a fundraising page set up. All funds go directly to the vetting & care of the animals. Also a STAR supporter has been kind enough to host a Thirty-One fundraiser. Please shop to your little hearts delight :) STAR will receive 25% of the proceeds.
Until next time, take care of your people & pets & remember to help out those in need when you can!

Long Time No See

Once again it has been forever since we have been able to update! I have recently taken a more active role in rescue & instead of just fostering, we now handle adoption & rescue inquiries too. As you can imagine when you throw all of our animals, full time jobs & family into the mix, we do not have much time for anything else.
Jenny
Joseph

So to catch everyone up, both Jenny & Joseph have been adopted!! Jenny went to a family with a stay at home mom & a 2 two legger sister! Joseph's foster family was to take him to an adoption event, but instead they had a family meeting & decided they wanted to adopt him!
Hopper/Dylan

We did a 1 night only foster gig in order to take Hopper (now known as Dylan) to his forever family.Hopper/Dylan was injured & luckily a STAR member came to his rescue. Sadly, his leg had to be amputated. After his amputation surgery, he went to a wonderful foster home where he was able to recover from his ordeal & become ready for his next step. While in our home he amazed us all by how well he could get around; even wanting to run & play ball!! He is such a pretty boy!
Liberty Girl
We agreed that until Sherry finds her own home that we are not going to do any other fostering as it is too much stress with keeping her separate from everyone & making sure that everyone gets 1 on 1 time, but I had to jump in when I saw sweetie pie Liberty's face & story. She was taken in (along with 6 other dogs) from an abusive home. She ( & 2 puppies) got rescue very quickly with S.P.A.R.E. Pets  ♥♥♥  We are fostering her for 2 weeks until she gets to go on transport.
Chi Pooh Kitty

Thank you for the kind words about our Chi Pooh. I still catch myself thinking I see her & waiting for her to jump in my lap.  She was a grand old gal (who could be quite the diva) & we were blessed to have her with us as long as we did. As old as she was, she was still more active than our other kitties & if you did something that she did not like, she would not think twice about putting you in your place :)
Pauley

Sherry

Annie

Since we will not be back for awhile, Pauley, Sherry & Annie would like to take this opportunity to wish everyone a very happy Easter!!! Note that only one dog actually enjoyed pretending to be a rabbit & it was not Sherry or Annie!

We REALLY miss being able to read about what is going on in everyone's lives!! Until next time.......
